The Rides Host provides excellent customer service to all guests entering the attraction by providing them with knowledge about all the products the attraction has to offer through positive guest interactions. Seeking exceptional guest interaction at every opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
•Adopts an enthusiastic, assertive, and passionate approach to Guest Service, and demonstrates the Merlin Values at every opportunity.
•Assists guests on and off our thrilling rides. ensuring that Health & Safety is always the number one priority.
•Carries out daily checks on the rides and reports any safety concerns.
•Works effectively in busy environments with high noise levels, maintaining a high level of focus to ensure safe ride operation.
•Implements all ride restrictions while monitoring line queues,
•Seeks out guest contact and displays enthusiasm and boundless amounts of fun energy.
•Ensures all public areas are ready for the attraction opening and that the areas are maintained and kept in a clean and tidy manner throughout the day.
•Follows opening and closing procedures as detailed in the department’s operating plan.
•Responsibility to ensure compliance of Health, Safety & Security within the workplaces.
•Follow set procedures during ride break downs, including proper guest communication and carrying out ride evacuation.
•Check rider height and screen for other riding restrictions.
•Speaking to large groups of guests with or without the use of a public address system
•Instructing guest and maintaining effective communication with other ride operators.

•Perform other duties as assigned. 
 
Physical Demands:
•Ability to hear, listen, and to communicate with others.
•Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
•Ability to use basic computer tools.
•Ability to differentiate hand symbols at distances of 100 feet.
•Ability to differentiate red and green at distances of 50 feet.
•Wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
•Move through all areas of the attraction with or without a reasonable accommodation.
•Stand, sit, and/or walk continuously with or without a reasonable accommodation and perform job function for the full shift with meal break.
.Bend, stoop kneel, reach twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, and/or crouch to accomplish daily activities.
•Grasp, turn and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
•May be required to work in confined spaces.
•May be exposed to a loud work environment.
 
Environmental Factors
•Depending on location, work may be performed inside or outside with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
•Exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold and/or wet, damp, humid or drafty conditions.
•Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distractions.
•Exposure to shaking objects and equipment.
•Exposure to varying light levels while transitioning in and out of the attraction at various times of the workday.

Qualifications & Experience

 

Must be at least 18 years of age. 6 months – 1 year experience working in attractions, entertainment, or customer service-based positions preferred. Fun, dynamic, and friendly personality. Excellent communication, listening, and motivational skills. Work in areas with loud noises and confined spaces. Work independently or as part of a team. Excellent customer service skills. Enthusiasm for representing the brand. Deal with large crowds and prioritize multiple guests. Maintain a high level of enthusiasm while doing repetitive work.
 
Licenses and Certifications
Ability to obtain related licensures or certification as may be required to perform the essential function of the position or as required by law.

Pay Range

Compensation between USD $14.50/Hr.-
