Main Responsibilities:
- Costume Character Performance:
- Perform as various costume characters both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be comfortable wearing a full-body costume with a head and helmet.
- Memorize and perform blocking and choreography.
- Research characters’ personal traits and circumstances for authentic portrayal.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for working with children and families.
- Training and Rehearsals:
- Attend training and rehearsals with other performers.
- Collaborate with directors, technical crew, costuming, and stage management teams.
- Safety and Etiquette:
- Adhere to safety training and procedures.
- Engage in proper green room etiquette by being polite and conscious of peers.
- Time Management and Collaboration:
- Demonstrate excellent time management and punctuality.
- Collaborate with other performers both onstage and offstage.
- Costume Character “Sidekick” Responsibilities:
- Perform as the costume character “sidekick,” including wearing a LLNYR-issued uniform.
- Assist performers into and out of their costumes.
- Speak with guests and manage a queue line.
- Be in charge of performer safety while on set.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Additional Duties:
- Ensure all costumes are properly cared for.
- Handle and store props and equipment correctly.
- Complete cleaning assignments for green rooms.
- Flexibility and Availability:
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends to support resort operations.
Background & Experience:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Friendly, polite, and customer service-oriented demeanor is required.
- Theme park experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be comfortable working with or around children.
- Performers are required to audition.
- Performance skills may include but are not limited to: Acting, Improv, Dancing (all types), physical comedy, etc.
Physical Requirements:
- Perform under varying conditions i.e. in various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
- Maintain conditioning for the role.
- Ability to stand or move about the park for prolonged times.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
