LEGOLAND New York Hotel is seeking enthusiastic and creative Seasonal Hotel Entertainment Associates dedicated to creating magical experiences for families through various entertainment offerings. The role involves engaging with guests in scripted stage shows, character meet & greets, atmosphere entertainment, and interactive workshops.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Performance Excellence:
· Attend training, rehearsals, and collaborate with diverse teams including directors, technical crew, costuming, and stage management.
· Perform as a Costume Character, bringing personality traits to life through physical animation. This includes comfortable performance in a full-body costume with head and helmet.
· Act as the Costume Character "Sidekick," responsible for wearing an LLNYR-issued uniform, assisting performers with costumes, managing queue lines, ensuring performer safety, and delivering excellent customer service.
· Memorize scripts, lines, choreography, and blocking/movement for scripted stage shows and workshops.
2. Guest Engagement and Leadership:
· Lead guest experiences such as games, build workshops, and play activities.
· Work enthusiastically with children and families to create a magical and memorable visit.
· Collaborate with other performers both onstage and offstage to enhance overall entertainment quality.
· Engage in proper green room etiquette, demonstrating politeness and awareness of peers.
3. Operational Support:
· Demonstrate excellent time management and punctuality.
· Ensure proper care of costumes, handling and storage of props and equipment, and completion of cleaning assignments for green rooms.
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends to support resort operations.
4. Performance Standards and Safety:
· Uphold performances to the highest standard, incorporating performance notes and feedback from leadership.
· Step in as needed to maintain a magical atmosphere and uphold high customer satisfaction.
· Prioritize safety as the topmost concern.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Assist with the overall maintenance of the magical atmosphere within the hotel.
· Support the National D&I committee activities, aligning with the commitment to diversity and inclusion within the organization.
· Participate in auditions as part of the selection process for Hotel Entertainment Associates.
· Must be at least 18 years old.
· Friendly, polite, and customer service-oriented demeanor is required.
· Theme park experience is preferred but not required.
· Must be comfortable working with or around children.
· Performers are required to audition.
· Performance skills may include but are not limited to: Acting, Improv, Dancing (all types), physical comedy, etc.
· All Hotel Entertainment Associates must attend an audition.
Physical Requirements:
· Perform under varying conditions, i.e., in various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
· Maintain conditioning for the role.
· Ability to stand or move about the resort for prolonged times.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
